Meine künstlerische Praxis basiert auf der Beobachtung und Reflexion gesellschaftlicher Verhältnisse und weitreichenden, meist ökonomischen Zusammenhängen.
Kapitalistische Strukturen und bestehende Systeme befrage ich durch unkonventionelle Objekte, deren Erscheinung und Verwendung. Meine Arbeit erzählt von Gestaltungswillen und von Handlungspotenzial. Als Schnittstelle zwischen Körper und Umwelt sind Objekte grundlegende Bindeglieder im menschlichen Handeln. Als greifbares Trägermaterial ermöglichen sie den Zugang zu Themen wie Selbstermächtigung, Konsum, Privilegien, Status, sowie zu lokalen und globalen Beziehungen.
In meiner Arbeit verknüpfe ich verschiedene Mikrogeschichten, hinterfrage Machtverhältnisse und schaffe Raum für eine Vielzahl von Perspektiven. Ich hinterfrage Gewissheiten der Gegenwart und erweitere diese durch Nebengeschichten, Möglichkeitsräume und alternative Strategien.
Artist Statement
My artistic practice is based on observing and reflecting on social conditions and far-reaching, predominantly economic relationships.
I question capitalist structures and existing systems through unconventional objects, their appearance, and their use.
My work speaks of the will to shape and of the potential for action. As interfaces between the body and its environment, objects are fundamental links in human action. As tangible carriers, they provide access to themes such as self-empowerment, consumption, privilege, status, and local and global relationships.
In my work, I connect different microhistories, question relations of power, and create space for a plurality of perspectives. I challenge the certainties of the present and expand them through marginal histories, spaces of possibility, and alternative strategies.
